Abstract
Direct SeaWater Electrolysis DSWE is an emerging technology that will enable to produce hydrogen from seawater without desalination first to pure water. Many challenges need to be addressed and solved to come to a mature DSWE technology. The challenges will be discussed, and one DSWE technology as developed and patented by Wetsus will be presented. The DSWE technology will enable us to directly use seawater without the need to supply ultra pure water to the existing water electrolysis systems. The developed DSWE technology makes use of a patented in-situ descaling process.
Presenter
The lecture will be given by Dr. Michel Saakes, Lector Water Smart Hydrogen NHL Stenden
